I have been building and repairing guitars and basses for twenty-five years in the San Francisco bay area. I opened my first lutherie business in 1975 in the Mission district of San Francisco. After ten years (and thousands of repairs and custom building for clients), I closed the storefront in order to concentrate on commission building. I prefer to work directly with my customer and will do my best to build an instrument which will meet his or her goals. I offer the option of rejection upon completion, but this has never happened! [The following paragraph is the 10-year-old copy that I need to change. See my special note on the home page.- Tom] It is my sincere desire that my client be happy with the finished guitar. I will build your instrument entirely by myself: No one else will be involved in any of the processes. I believe that every part of the fabrication process in a truly superior instrument must originate with consistency and vision of the result. In this way I hope to give a part of myself to every instrument I build. Depending upon design difficulties, delivery is currently one to two years. A minimum deposit of one thousand dollars will hold a slot open in my production line and fifty percent up front will guarantee start of production. I am aware of the fact that purchasing one of these instruments requires a serious investment. I am prepared to offer you a flexible financial plan that can make the purchase easier for you. I will sign, number and provide you with a history of the origin of all materials used including any unusual historical information that is relevant to your guitar.
